HBP. BUILDING SURVEYOR

Well it is certainly a new thing for me. Everyday there will be a new thing for me to learn in this subject. I manage to make many new friends, sleep late, getting hurt (a small hurt). Some may thing that this studio project are a waste of time, but for me it is the gold time in my life that I will never get back. After project 8 have complete, the following day was somewhat empty to me. I went to studio but the only thing that I saw was an empty studio and I realize that I miss being busy in studio with my friend, all the bad and good moment we create are very precious making me more sad at the moment. I’m not a good painter neither a good designer but I’m learning and I know I am getting better at it each day because I find some people admire my work and that put a smile in my face because it is always a good thing for people to acknowledge your work.     This could be the hardest task given to us simply because none of us have the basic in dancing. We had only one week to complete the dance that we learn through internet. Some major use the help of a good dancer form Adikarma to help them in the dance but we Building Surveyor refuse to do so because we want to feel the difficulty on dancing and it does take a spin on our head. Though we didn't perform well on the night of the performance, we did enjoy, laugh out loud because we make unforgettable moment and happy memory that will stay withing ourselves for the rest of our life.

All groups will be responsible to   design   5 Exhibition Booths   (4 major-based group to exhibit the best studio works of their members and 1 integrated group to display the integrated-group studio project (Project 6) during this semester). The design of each booth and exhibition area at the DRUM should be based on the stipulated   ‘RUS104 2013/2014 Exhibition’   theme:   ‘FLOATING LINES’ The location of the booths (Booth 1-5) and the proposed   ‘Opening Ceremony Area’   For this exhibition, each booth will be provided with: i. partition boards to display the selected presentation drawings, and ii. table(s) to place sculptures, models or reports. Besides the major task to design the booth (with any possible materials) based on the   ‘FLOATING LINES’ theme, each major also needs to design and provide a   ‘BANNER’   (sized 10’ x 2’) that shows the name of the major and year (e.g. ‘ARCHITECTU

Building does not have to be large to be pleasantly viewed, and does not have to be extensively enclosed to be comfortably occupied. This is especially so in the tropics, where simple living under the shade with the users being kept connected to the nature is more recommended. Such examples are commonly found waqf (wakaf) or traditional performance stage that is aesthetically beautiful and functionally viable. With the advance of structural know-how and efficient technology, these small structure buildings like the performance stage have been upgraded to be more creatively designed and applicable for broader functions. This includes a mini amphitheater stage, which has gained greater attention in recent years, since it is easily placed in small to medium size of outdoor spaces.
